Our Impact on the Community
At Union Savings Bank, we pride ourselves on being more than just a financial institution; we are a trusted partner in our community’s growth. Our commitment to giving back extends beyond the typical banking services by continually seeking ways to support our local community through volunteer opportunities. Our Loan Officers have expanded their roles beyond the mortgage industry to assist those in need. Their efforts have ranged from volunteering at local food banks to building beds for those without. We invite you to explore the various ways Union Savings Bank has made a tangible difference in our community.
Monroe County United Ministries
Sarah James recently had the privilege of visiting Compass Early Learning Center, where she engaged with young learners on financial responsibility. Sarah introduced the children to financial concepts during her visit, and the young attendees received piggy banks and coloring books. As they listened to a captivating story about the importance of saving, the children began to understand the value of money management from an early age.
In addition, Union Savings Bank demonstrated its commitment to community support through a substantial financial contribution. We awarded $25,000 in grant funding to the Monroe County United Ministries (MCUM). This grant is designated for programs that provide rental and utility assistance, helping families in need maintain stability in their homes. Furthermore, the funds will support MCUM’s community outreach initiatives to improve the quality of life for local residents.
Ohio Mortgage Bankers Association Homeownership
Union Savings Bank proudly sponsored the Ohio Mortgage Bankers Association Homeownership Workshop held this past April at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden. This event provided an educational experience for those who attended. Children had the opportunity to observe baby animals and paint pictures of their dream homes.
Beyond these activities for the children, the workshop served as a platform for Union Savings Bank to connect with community members and share information about homeownership. Our team engaged with dozens of attendees, discussing the bank’s home mortgage programs, various down payment assistance options, and more. Attendees were provided with personalized guidance and insights into the home-buying process. Union Savings Bank gave support to those looking to buy a home with the tools and knowledge needed for successful homeownership.
Project Linus
Our Columbus team recently contributed their time to craft six full-size blankets for “Project Linus,” an organization devoted to providing handmade blankets to children in need. Union Savings Bank also made a financial donation to the Columbus Project Linus chapter. This donation is intended to boost their efforts in achieving their goal of creating 100 blankets by June, which will be distributed to a local youth camp.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace
This past month, Union Savings Bank and Guardian Savings Bank employees united to bring hope and comfort to children in need by constructing 60 beds for those who would otherwise go without. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such a meaningful cause.
Here at Union Savings Bank, we are dedicated to giving back to the community and creating a positive impact beyond our financial services. We continue to find new ways to contribute to our community, and if you have any opportunities for us, we would love to help!
